Dad Delivers Baby During Flood Using Google

This is so great. I often wonder, "What would I do without the internet?" Well, in Jordan's case below, it truly was pretty essential!

A Hendrum, Minn. man used nothing but instructions from the Internet to deliver his new baby girl.

With the Red River growing higher and higher on Sunday and her basement flooding, Natalie Peck went into labor.

A midwife was not able to get to the home on time so the task was left up to dad. He turned to the Internet for instructions and delivered a health baby girl named Margaret.

"I think its something guys can relate to if all else fails follow the instructions and this was one of those times I was going to follow the directions to a T," laughed new father Jordan Peck.

The family's not sure when or if they can return to their home. For now, the new family are staying with friends. (from KSTP TV)

Two things I like about this story:

• Having a baby is amazing. Having it during a flood at home delivered by yourself is all caps AWESOME.

Woman with Two Wombs Delivers Twin Daughters

This is pretty amazing. In the video below, they said this is only the third time something like this has happened:

A northern Michigan woman with two wombs has given birth to twin daughters -- one from each uterus.

The Mining Journal and WLUC-TV reported 21-year-old Sarah Reinfelder's babies were delivered seven weeks premature Thursday by Caesarean section at Marquette General Hospital in the Upper Peninsula.

Dr. Connie Hedmark and Dr. Breanna Pond first delivered Kaylin Joy, then Valerie Marie, the larger twin by one pound. Kaylin Joy weighed 3 pounds, 15 ounces. Both babies are healthy, and they and their mother are doing fine.

Reinfelder has uterus didelphys, and doctors say such twin births are rare. The uteri are different sizes, with the larger twin born from the larger uterus.

Cute Things Falling Asleep

This will make you smile.

There is a blog out there called "Cute Things Falling Asleep," where short videos are posted of (mostly) babies, puppies and kittens...falling asleep. Videos are rated from 1-5 both for cuteness and sleepiness.

CNN recently did a short piece on it too - with some good clips. I like the part where Nick Malis (the owner of the blog) talks about rating a baby video "2" for cuteness...but the mother of the baby thought the baby was a little cuter than that!

Twins Born On Different Days, Years

That's right - A Detroit mother gave birth to twin boys on different days and in different months of different years.

Tangernika Woods and her husband welcomed their first twin, Tarrance, at 11:51 p.m., Wednesday, New Years Eve 2008. Their second twin, Tariq, made his entrance 26 minutes later at 12:17 a.m. Thursday, the first day of January 2009. (from MSNBC)

What a great story that these twins will tell the rest of their lives!
